Abstract
This study was designed to test a new approach to the evaluation of patient care. Urinary tract infection was the disease surveyed. The objectives of the study were (1) to find the medical status of the patients prior to their first visit to the general medical clinic, (2) to compare the results of the survey with those obtained by the clinic team as recorded in the medical records, (3) to measure the knowledge of the clinic team with objective examinations, and (4) to compare performance on objective examinations with that in actual treatment situations. This approach appears to be an effective way to gather information about the quality of patient care given by physicians. Keywords
