Fate of Intravenously Administered Glycerol.

Abstract
Glycerin given intravenously to dogs disappeared rapidly from the circulation. Daily infusions of 58-75 g glycerol in isotonic glucose produced marked polyuria; approximately half of the administered glycerol was excreted in the urine. Tremor and convulsions which occurred in some animals during a prolonged course of infusions were not due to accumulation of glycerol in the blood or to decreased urinary excretion.
