Abstract
Protamine is a potent inhibitor of a system essential for conversion of mevalonic acid to cholesterol. Evidence was presented that protamine combines with a polyanion, presumably "free" or "combined"ribonucleic acid, that is essential for maintenance of an adenosine triphosphate level required in utilization of mevalonic acid.Keywords
