Abstract
Four species of Ceratocystis are reported from dead or injured subalpine fir (Abies lasiocarpa). Two (C. nigra and C. brunnea) are described as new species associated with bark beetle galleries and 2 (C. minor (Hedgc.) Hunt and C. penicillata (Gros.) Moreau were previously described species. Three other new species (Ceratocystis perfecta, C. tenella, and C. vesca) were isolated from secondary bark Beetles in picea engelmannii Perry killed by Dendroctonus engelmanni Hopk. Ceratocystis moniliformis (Hedgc.) Moreau was present on sapwood of recently cut aspen (PopTus tremuloides Michx.) trees and a new species (C. brevicollis) was obtained from galleries of the ambrosis beetle Typodendron retusus Lec. in aspen.
