Phocomelic Deformity and Material Thalidomide Administration—A Report of Four Cases

Abstract
We report four examples of phocomelia in infants born after thalidomide administration to the mother in the first trimester of pregnancy. The similarity of the hypoplasia and deformity of the limbs and their shoulder and pelvic girdles is a notable feature. In no case was abnormality found in the bones of the skull or spine.
