Abstract
The application of a single-mode GaAlAs semiconductor laser as a coherent source is investigated. The correlation of intensity of the laser beam that is scattered by spherical particles of uniform size suspended in water is measured to determine its use in light-beating spectroscopy. The results indicate that a single-mode GaAlAs semiconductor laser can be used as a coherent source for light-beating spectroscopy in place of a He—Ne laser. Keywords
