Abstract
Ten normal adult [female] rats were given injs. of testosterone and testosterone proprionate over a period of 2 mos. Vaginal smears and tests of sex behavior were made. Masculine sex behavior, frequently observed in untreated [female] rats, was increased during the period of treatment. Vaginal cycles were depressed. 8 of the 10 rats, however, continued to accept aggressive [male][male]. After discontinuing the injs. the ovaries recovered rapidly and the vaginal cycles returned. Normal reproductive behavior also was shown. The hypertrophy of the clitorides resulting from the injs. continued up to the day the animals were sacrificed. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
