Abstract
Proteins (albumin, globin HCl, clupein sulfate and gamma-globulin) can be partially separated on paper by using solvent mixtures of phenol, acetic acid, o-cresol, n-butanol and tetra-hydrofurane-Veronal buffer pH 8. Partial break-down products separate in phenol-n-butanol-acetic-H2O. RF values of some amino acids and peptides in the latter solvents are given. Quantitative data for the distr. of various proteins in mixtures of H2O, phenol and n-butanol are tabulated.
