3-4 days after contact with the Newcastle virus of fowls, an eye developed an extensive subconjunctival hemorrhage associated with subcut. hemorrhage of the eyelid. The virus is known to attack the walls of the blood vessels of poultry, and it appears from this case that a similar process can occur in man.
