In Part II, the earlier work of Simons, Francis, and Hogg showed that fluorocarbons could be produced electrochemically. By the use of a bank of larger cells useful quantities of material were obtained, the nature of the fluorocarbon products was determined in greater detail, and the relative usefulness of various types of hydrogen fluoride-soluble organic compounds was estimated.
