Siderophore synthesis in Klebsiella pneumoniae and Shigella sonnei during iron deficiency

Abstract
Klebsiella pneumoniae 298/53 and Shigella sonnei 43-GG9 exhibited restricted growth and enterochelin synthesis only under iron-deficient conditions. S. sonnei also produced an unidentified secondary hydroxamate siderophore.Keywords
