Abstract
Electron-impact intramolecular vibrational and vibronic excitation of disordered multilayer films is studied with primary energies varying from 2 to 20 eV. The intensity of the to vibrational modes of ground state exhibits a broad resonance as a function of electron energy. At the resonance maximum the vibrational intensities are enhanced by one to two orders of magnitude. The resonance appears to be derived from gas-phase quasibound states.
