Karyotypes of Fifteen Trifolium Species in Section Amoria1

Abstract
The karotypes of 15 species of Trifolium belonging to the section Amoria were compared on the bases of chromosome size, ceutromere position, number of satellite chromosomes, and size of satellites. Some species have similar or indistinguishable karotypes while others differ from one another by one or more cytological characters. The similarity of karyotypes of T. nigrescens Viv., T. occidentale D. Coombe, T. petrisavii Clem., and T. repens L. suggests a close phylogenetic relationship among these species.
