Abstract
Data are presented from a series of 7 expts. comprising [male] and [female] adult rats which received from 40-120 mg. of thiouracil daily in their food from 14-385 days. These rats showed an irregularly progressive increase in the size of the adrenal medulla. The hypertrophic medullae took a more intense chrome stain than normal adrenals and the epinephrine store as measured by the Folin-Cannon method was significantly greater than normal. It is suggested that the thyroid-adrenal medulla inter-relation is a direct one. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
