Über das Vorkommen von 1-Phenylalanin in Harn und Blut bei Imbecillitas phenylpyrouvica.

Abstract

In normal persons on a mixed diet, in rabbits and in rats, traces (0.006-0.01%) of l-phenylalanin were excreted in urine. It was found in normal human serum only after feeding phenylalanin or casein. In 4 cases of imbecillitas phenylpyruvica, increased amounts of 1-phenylalanin were found in urine, and also in the serum in 2 cases. d-phenylalanin was found only after its ingestion.
