Abstract
Alloxan failed to produce complete exptl. diabetes in 4 calves treated with single or repeated doses of 65-175 mg./kg. The only diabetic symptoms observed were postprandial hyperglycemia and decreased glucose tolerance. The normal calf resembles hypophysectomized or adrenalectomized animals of other spp. in its failure to exhibit an initial hyperglycemia after alloxanization. Renal damage was severe in all animals. Keywords
