A STUDY OF EXTERNAL PANCREATIC SECRETION IN MAN

Abstract
Pure pancreatic fluid from a post-operative partial external pancreatic fistula in man was studied. Quantitative chemical analyses and dye excretory studies were done. There was a minimal secretion during fasting, an increased rate of secretion soon after the ingestion of food. The fistulous opening showed no evidence of digestion, since the pancreatic secretion was non-activated.
