Why Do Neutrinos Produce MoreW's Than Muons?

Abstract

A simple model is used to expose the mechanism which makes $W$ production by neutrinos at least an order of magnitude larger than the production by muons. This difference was noted by us in a full calculation of the muon-induced process. Using the model, it is noticed that the reaction ${\mu }^{-}+n\to p+W^{-}+{\mu }^{-}$ does not suffer from this damping effect.
