Changes in GFR and CHH2O before and after repair of K deficiency in rats

Abstract
Clearance of inulin and CHH2O were compared in control rats and in rats after 25–35 days of potassium deficiency. The latter had a decrease in inulin clearance and a proportional decrease in CHH2O. After 5–13 days of repair in the potassium-deficient group the clearance of inulin was normal and the CHH2O was normal or possibly high. A slight impairment in ability to dilute urine was noted.
