On a Second-Order Thomas—Fermi Theory

Abstract
A second‐order Thomas—Fermi theory, involving a product representation of the θ operator, has been constructed. It yields a particle density exhibiting a shell structure for the one‐dimensional harmonic oscillator.Keywords
