Fluxon propagation in long Josephson junctions with external magnetic field

Abstract
The reflection of a single fluxon propagating in a Josephson line cavity influenced by an external magnetic field is examined numerically. We find a single reflected fluxon, an antifluxon, collapse of the incident fluxon, fission into a higher number of antifluxons or fluxons, and formation of breather-like waves depending on the velocity of the incident fluxon and the magnitude of the external magnetic field. Approximations based on energy analysis describing the border lines between regions of different processes are presented.
