Second harmonic generation in GeO2 ridge waveguide

Abstract

We report the first observation of ‘seeded’ second harmonic generation in a GeO2 and P2O5 codoped silica ridge waveguide from a pump wavelength at 1.064/µm. A 200-fold increase over the background signal has been measured.
