Abstract
The dexamethasone-induced steroid receptor ofTetrahymena pyriformis specifically binds triamcinolone, which is itself a fluorinated glucocorticoid. It also binds dihydro-epi-androsterone (DHEA) but no or very little testosterone, digoxin or ouabain. It follows that the specificity of the induced steroid receptor ofTetrahymena may only partially be comparable with that of the mammalian steroid receptor. This publication has 17 references indexed in Scilit:
