Die Isolierung funktionsfähiger Blutlymphozyten

Abstract
A method is described for isolating viable lymphocytes from venous blood with little expenditure of time and material; an almost pure lymphocyte concentration is obtained with a high yield of cells. The method involves incubation of plasma containing large numbers of leukocytes in a column filled with glass beads; the granulocytes and monocytes adhere to the beads and are retained during the subsequent elution, so that the eluate contains only lymphocytes, erythrocytes and thrombocytes. The red cells and platelets can if necessary be removed by further preparation.
