Lymphoblastic Neoplasia in a Homosexual Patient with Kaposi's Sarcoma

Abstract
The bone marrow aspirate from a leukopenic homosexual patient with Kaposi's sarcoma showed a minimal increase (10%) in the blast count with 25% of mononuclear cells positive for terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase. Flow cytometry study detected a hyperdiploid clone representing 47% of the marrow cell population. The findings are consistent with a lymphoblastic neoplasia in preleukemic phase.
