The Chromosomes of the Chimpanzee

Abstract
Sections from the testes of a mature and an immature chimpanzee were studied. The immature animal showed no maturation divisions. Counts were made only on diakinesis stages since the fixation of metaphase chromosomes was inadequate. 24 was found to be the probable haploid number of chromosomes in those complexes which were unquestionable. The sex chromo-somes were not positively identified.
