Abstract
Fifty one-hundredths gm. powdered hog thyroid containing 0.42% I mixed with 0.5 gm. powdered magic yeast cake was fed to larvae 0-4 hrs. old. The control larvae were fed on 0.5 gm. yeast containing an equivalent quantity of powdered hog muscle instead of thyroid powder. The larvae were killed 67 hrs. after being put on food. About 8000 larvae were used. Those fed thyroid were significantly larger than the controls, but the imagoes of the latter seemed to be a little larger. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
