Abstract
In a series of expts. With the ascomycete, Neurospora crassa, the fungus was treated with antisera and isolates descended from single nuclei were tested for deficiencies in growth on different carbohydrates. 25 variants were found in treated isolates, none in controls. 11 of the variants were subjected to genetic test and each differed by a single gene from wild type. The data seem to indicate that antibodies influence the induction of mutations.
