Abstract
Of 1327 male and female players in 10 658 matches of squash rackets in the 1979 season, 64 players sustained eye, face or head injury. Eighty-three percent of the injuries were due to the racket and 12.5 percent were due to ball contact. There was a 6.5 percent risk of injury if all matches were played. There were more injuries in the top divisions of play.
