Abstract
In soybean leaves a distinctive layer of mesophyll cells, one cell layer in thickness, extends horizontally between the veinlets, in the plane of the phloem. Anatomical features of the layer suggest that it is concerned with the translocation of photosynthate from the palisade parenchyma to the veins. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
