Abstract
Computer simulations present evidence that the localized anisotropic heating from resonant absorption drives a Weibel-like instability that generates megagauss magnetic fields for typical laser-fusion parameters. The magnetic fields can inhibit heat transport and partially isotropize the hot electrons. Keywords
