Abrogation of Tolerance to Lens Protein

Abstract
Lens injury coincidental with lipopolysaccharide injection led to the abrogation of tolerance to lens protein. This was manifested by production of serum antibody as well as by development of typical histopathologic features of experimental lens induced granulomatous endophthalmitis. The implications of this observation for theories of the pathogenesis of phacoantigenic endophthalmitis are discussed
