Abstract
A significant reduction in liver CoA content occurs during the phase of rapid liver regeneration following partial hepatectomy in the rat. The reduction parallels the diminished carbohydrate metabolism in actively regenerating liver tissue observed by others. It is suggested that during rapid tissue growth and repair carbohydrate metabolism becomes subsidiary to protein synthesis, and that CoA concentrations are more closely related to the former. Keywords
