Abstract
In a survey of predacious (nematophagous) fungi in New Zealand, 609 records comprising 317 Hyphomycetes, 231 Zoopagales, and 61 endozoic parasites were recovered from 56% of a total of 700 samples of surface soils and associated organic material examined. Eight Hyphomycete species, two Zoopagales, and five endozoic parasites, mainly common British and American species, were identified. Some apparent environmental preferences and relationships of these fungi are discussed, and their possible origin in New Zealand is considered. Keywords
