Abstract
The three-dimensional Gross-Neveu model in a strong magnetic field and at finite density is considered. It is shown that the phase structure of the model depends crucially on the filling of the threshold levels. In particular, with "asymmetric filling" of the threshold levels, a magnetic field induces a transition to a phase with broken chiral symmetry. Keywords
