Abstract
Radar images are corrupted by multiplicative noise due to fading. This paper presents an algorithm for smoothing noisy radar images. The algorithm is easily implemented in the spatial domain and is computationally very efficient. By adapting the filter parameters to local statistics, it is shown that the filter preserves edges. Keywords
