Internal Pair Creation in Beta Decay

Abstract

A physical picture is presented for internal pair creation in beta decay, and the ratio of the total number of positrons to the total number of electrons emitted is calculated for the transition ${\mathrm{P}}^{32}$→${\mathrm{S}}^{32}$. The result is in agreement with the experiment of Greenberg and Deutsch.
