Abstract
It is established, by means of the periodic acid - Schiff technique, that during starvation in vitro glycogen disappears primarily from the parenchymal cells and the muscular organs of Fasciola hepatica. During the periods of ob-servation (12 and 24 hours inanition) no glycogen decrease could be seen in the parenchymal cells and the uterine eggs. Flukes starved for 24 hours and refed for 24 hours show the same histochemical glycogen picture as freshly isolated specimens, indicating complete resynthesis. Keywords
