Observations on the Inter-Troop Movement of Adult Vervet Monkeys (Cercopithecus aethiops)

Abstract
Vervet troops are not closed units and migration − both into and out of the troop − occurs regularly. Available data suggest that it is a male phenomenon related to the accessibility of adult females. The process and its implications are discussed.Keywords
