Abstract
The temperature dependence and the decay times of the Eu3+ fluorescence in DBM provide an unequivocal assignment for the emitting states. The decay times of emissions from the two excited states are due to different depleting mechanisms. The role of the particular J values of the two emitting states in Eu3+ is discussed. Keywords
