Rats were exposed to 675 r X radiation and were then given 15 [mu]g. folic acid per day for 22-40 days after irradiation. Folic acid, effective in certain of the macrocytic anemias in man, was apparently ineffective in the macrocytic anemia produced in irradiated rats.
