Interaction of carbon monoxide with rhenium

Abstract
The sticking probability of carbon monoxide on a clean Re surface was found to be 0.045, and the total uptake corresponded to an approximate CO/Re ratio of 3:4, assuming a roughness factor for the surface of unity. The rate of uptake of gas was first order in pressure. Two binding states were observed and the dependence of their population on the filament temperature was investigated.
