Abstract
The O. P. of gum acacia across a cellophane membrane is independent of concn. between the limits 2-6%. Saturating with thymol reduces O. P. slightly; the addition of salt reduces it greatly. Sterilization increases the O. P., 3-day steaming being more effective than autoclaving. The O. P. of the clinical solution of 6% gum in normal saline is less than 1/2 that of the normal blood colloids. The addition of salt to this solution is deemed inadvisable. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
