Abstract
As presently known, the genus Siphonoglossa can be divided into 2 subgenera, one of which is here divided into 2 sect., PENTALOBA sect. nov. and Siphonoglossa. From a locality in Durango, Mexico, S. durangensis sp. nov. in sect. Siphonoglossa and S. linearifolia sp. nov. in sect. Pentaloba. Three other species are transferred into Siphonoglossa: S. canbyi comb. nov. [Justicia canbyi Greenm.] from northeastern Mexico; S. buchii comb. nov. [J. buchii Urban] from Haiti and the Dominican Republic and S. incerta comb. nov. [Dianthera incerta T. S.
