Abstract
This paper presents a new technique for the solution of 3-D eddy current problems. According to this technique, electric field E within conductors and scalar magnetic potential φ outside the conductors are used as state variables. Eddy current problems are formulated as boundary value problems with respect to E and φ which, in turn, are reduced to two coupled boundary Galerkin’s forms on conductor surfaces. A new quasifinite element discretization technique based on these coupled boundary Galerkin’s forms is discussed. Keywords
