Abstract
The discovery of a few [male] in the agamic generation of 2 species of the Cynipidae (N. contortus (Weld) and N. rileyi (Bassett)) is reported. Tests on the behavior of these [male] demonstrate that they are functionless. The interpretation is made that such aberrant [male] represent a remnant of a more primitive, bisexual condition in the generation which has now become agamic.
