Chilling as a Means of Retaining the Viability of the Sporozoites of Plasmodium gallinaceum

Abstract
Ex-posure to room temp. for as short a. period as 15 min. markedly reduces the viability of a sporozoite inoculum even when normal blood serum is used as the suspending agent. Chilling the inoculum in an ice bath retains the viability and permits the inoculation of a series of 200 to 300 test birds with the expectation of uniform infections throughout.
