Abstract
A thermodUution flowmeter for intravascular use is described. Heat produced by an electrically heated coil is distributed uniformly in the blood stream by a stirrer and the temperature change measured downstream by a thermistor. Comparisons between coronary sinus blood flow determined by this method and directly measured flow in open chest preparations showed maximum deviations of +7.5 and -7.0%. Good results were also obtained hi the measurement of coronary sinus blood flow in intact dogs. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
