Abstract
In chicks on diets containing inadequate levels of vit. B12, the growth response to aureomycin was greater than when the vit. B12 level was adequate, thus indicating a sparing action of aureomycin on the vit. B12 requirement. In other expts. this relationship was not found. Aureomycin reduced mortality on diets containing no added vit. B12- Sulfa-methazine did not increase growth rate or exert a sparing effect on the vit. B12 requirement. Keywords
