Abstract
The far‐infrared spectrum of gaseous ethyl fluoride has been remeasured. A series of sharp Q branches have been observed at 242.7, 225.5, 208.4, and 177 cm—1 and have been assigned as the band origins of the 0–1, 1–2, 2–3, and 3–4 Å torsional transitions. The V6 contribution to the potential hindering internal rotation is about —15 cal/mole.Keywords
